Today
for the #TAAIGChallenge, I wanted to share my favorite Instagram sites. I'm following @homeonfernhill because you can't have art without a great place to hang it. I love her rich colors and delicious textures. I follow @erin.gregory.art
because her florals remind me to keep my florals fresh and loose. And then there is @sasha.borisovich. Wow. Fractured images and reflections to die for! You should definitely check them out.
I am a newbie to Instagram, so I can't wait to discover more favorites and to understand all this hashtag jargon.

Featured Artist-Appleton Monthly
Excited to find the Appleton Monthly distribution on the shelves today and my Featured Artist article: Telling Stories Through Color. They do not have an electronic version, so you can pick up a copy at Fox Valley area stores or read the article here:
A big "thank you" to Courtney Cerniglia for stopping at my art booth in July, getting to know me a bit and for her lovely writing!

New Year Interaction
It is my goal in 2017 to give my followers a little more insight into my personal life as it pertains to my artwork. I am hoping to learn how to create some videos for you and to give you a little more insight on my processes.
I insanely signed up for the 30 Paintings in 30 days challenge again. I have a new grandbaby due soon, so I maybe painting ahead of time in order to keep up and I'll need to bring my paints along and squeeze in some art while the angel baby and mama sleep.
Leslie Saeta (our hostess for this challenge) suggests selecting a theme. I have decided to make my theme the 2017 Color Trends. This means, a palette of desert toned neutrals: Terra Cotta, Saffron and cork. Botanicals are still trending, so Emerald and Guacamole greens with a plant theme. Also, there is a Nordic influence in 2017; minimalistic, cool colors like Icelantic Blue and warm grays. I hope to capture these trends with the 30 in 30 challenge.

Upcycle, Day 30
Well I certainly did not do 30 paintings this month, but hopefully I forced myself to paint a little more often. "Life" has been getting in the way of my creativity, but hey, ya gotta live it! Here's another piece that I "upcycled". This was originally painted on the street at our local Farmer's Market and has been hanging at Studio3 since that time. I recently brought it home and added some of my ink squiggles. Better.

It's Fruity! Day 29, 30 in 30
This is another one that I reused a canvas, so it's go some nice texture from the previous paint giving it some depth.

Floral Spray, Day 28, 30 in 30
Got a few paintings finished tonight that I will be plopping here in my blog as time permits. Some were repainted canvases as this one and some were started previously and tweaked to finish.
I call this one "Floral Spray" as it is a "spray" of flowers flowing from the vase with lots of splatters and drips. Super fun!

Floral Workshop, Day 23, 30 in 30
Although the class was small, we had a great time in my "Loosey Goosey Floral" workshop last night. The paint was spattering, dripping and flying! My favorite way to paint! We had wine and snacks in a great venue. My thanks to Sandi at La Belle Maison in Menasha for being our host. And thank you to my students for your laughter and encouragement!

Itty Bitty Art-XMas Cow, Day 22, 30 in 30
Preparing for my next art fair, which is close to Christmas, I painted some "Itty Bitties" last night and will post them this week. I will be teaching a floral art class tonight, so painting tonight will be florals.
Here is the first "Itty Bitty". These are on adorable 2"x 2" canvases. I plan on making these into tiny ornaments.

Winter Landscape-Day 15, 30 in 30
After taking the dog to the vet, taking him for a walk and cutting the grass, it was finally time for me to head to the studio. Wanted to create, but needed a simple scene that I could punch out quickly. This is what came to mind. I think it would be a nice bright spot for someone's winter décor.

Cardinal again! Day 14
Since this is all I've had time to paint/post, another failed cardinal. Watch for updates when I have time to rework these. I want them chunkier and with a little more personality. For now here's one I had painted ahead of time knowing my time in the studio was going to be very limited this week. Keep on painting! Even the duds keep your creative juices flowing.

More Cardinals, Day 13
Here is another little Cardinal painting I did quickly for Day 13. It's a busy week for me. The Oshkosh Fine Arts Association starts up again with our first meeting tomorrow, Wednesday is "Art for Tarts", and Thursday I will be setting up a exhibit of my work at the Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake. Good thing I painted up these cardinals ahead of time to fill up some of my 30 day paintings!

Drive by Farm View-Day 12, 30 in 30
Packers won their game season opener today so with a happy heart, I headed into my studio after the game. This is the image that came to me as I "abstracted" away. It was hard to get a good picture of this with my smart phone because it's so large, but I am happy with this one. Spontaneous and loose! Just my style.

Cardinal attempts-Day 11
I thought with some limited time to paint this week, that I'd punch out a few cardinals for my November Art Fair. I am not happy with them. I failed to capture the whimsy that gives my "critters" their fun. I thought I will post them anyway so that we can all see that every painting is not a success, but we keep painting anyway as it keeps the creative juices flowing. They won't all be winners.

Shadowing Bob Burridge-Day 9, 30 in 30
One of my favorite artists is Bob Burridge. I can't get enough of his loose, colorful style of painting. One of the things he teaches is "Negative painting", where you put in the background first and then paint around your objects to create the final piece. This is my Bob Burridge inspired forest scene. His are much better, but he's has much more practice! lol

Chinese Lanterns-Day 8, 30 in 30
Keeping in mind the upcoming fall season, I painted a vase of Chinese Lanterns in a loose drippy format. I like how it turned out. Loose and free painting is definitely my therapy.

Chicken Art! Day 7, 30 Paintings in 30 Days
If you follow my art, you know I love to paint "critters". I paint cows and pigs and little birdies and I have been getting requests to paint chickens, so I did! I hope you like "Keep on Cluckin".

Day 2-Leanin In Reworked
Leanin In Reworked
You know how it goes. You keep critiquing a piece and something just isn't right. Such was the case with "Leanin In", so reworked it tonight. I did not like the yellow smack dab in the center of the arrangement. This is better.

Wow, cannot believe it's been 8 months since I posted on my blog. Nothing like the 30 paintings in 30 days to get me back at it. I've been busy building my little art business. You can check out my paintings on my website: https://www.terri-einer.pixels.com
So Sept. 1 marks the first painting in 30. No way I'll keep up with all of them, but I'll sure give it the old college try!

30 Day Collage
The 30 Paintings in 30 Days is always a challenge. Out of 30, I think I managed about 25. One thing I learned along the way is I love to paint spontaneously. No plan. My best paintings this month started out with abstract backgrounds and evolved into a finished piece. They were loose and full of energy and just felt right for my style, so my two favorites from this 30 day journey turned out to be "Wildflowers"
and
"Coffee Break"
Here is my "30" Day collage, made up of a few of the 30 Day selection. We'll probably see you back in September if I am insane enough to do this all again! (smile).

Wildflowers-Day 18-30 Paintings in 30 Days
Well, I missed a few days. I'm getting ready for a three day show and just decided rather than stress about it-I wouldn't! lol The point is to paint, when you can and enjoy the ride. So after the weekend, I'm ready for the show and found some time to paint again. I'm pretty happy with this one. It's big and loose and exactly how I love to paint. I hope you enjoy it too.
