Month of Progress-30 Paintings in 30 Days

Well, I did pretty good.  I did 24 paintings in 30 days.  Most just little 5x7's but a few larger.  Concentrated mostly on my "critters" and the smiles they bring.  I enjoyed following the other artists and the connections we made.

Now it's time to work on pieces for the Art Fair season.  Stop on over to my website and check out the event page to see where I am showing this year.

Thanks for popping into my blog!

Farmhouse decor-Day 25, 30 Paintings in 30 Days

I was envisioning a farmhouse style decor when I painted this one. Very different palette for me, but I am pleased with the results.

Day 24-Oops Missed a Day!

Well, I finally missed a day in this challenge.  No post for the 23rd.  Made it out to my studio tonight for a bit.  Even had to take a picture of this one wet!  I took an abstract landscape class this summer at the Peninsula Art School and Gallery in Door County, WI and I have to make a presentation to the Fine Art Association regarding this experience, so thought I'd practice what I learned a bit!

Icy January-Painting Ahead for 30 Paintings in 30 Days-Day 18

Painted ahead a bit, thank goodness cause the weather has been frightful.  This one is a critter, but not necessarily included in my "joy" theme for the 30in30 challenge.  I think the little guy is still cute, though.

Icy January - Day 17 - 30 Paintings in 30 Days

Well, it's glare ice on the downslope out to my studio, so rather than risk a fall, I'm going to veer today from the "Joy" theme path and use a floral I painted for my Day 17 entry.  I guess we can all agree that flowers bring joy, lol.  It's just not one of my "critter" paintings.  Good thing I painted ahead a bit this month!  Nasty weather!

Dog Joy-Day 16-30 Paintings in 30 Days

I don't know about you, but I love dogs. I love their loyalty, their companionship and the sheer joy they bring into our lives, so I could not have a "Joy" theme for 30 Paintings in 30 Days without including "Mans best friend."

This one is snuggling in bed with it's owner.

Dolphins - Day 14 - 30 Paintings in 30 Days

I can't imagine expressing joy without those lovable dolphins showing us the way.  I've always said I want to be reincarnated as a dolphin.  I love the ocean and they seem to have a pretty good life in it.

Make a Joyful Noise - Day 10 - 30 in 30 Challenge

It's Day 10 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.  I've had several people now comment that I should be illustrating Children's books...Hmmm  Might have to explore that.  Anyone have any advice or experience with that?

This image came to mind when I saw a recent flamingo from a friends vacation photo.  Such a big, awkward bird, trying to be graceful.

I Love Sleeping In! 30 in 30

It's nearly 9:00 a.m. and I just pulled myself out of bed for the last day off this holiday season.  I LOVE sleeping in.  Can't wait until the day I can leave the 9-5 grind.  So lots of time to paint will soon be over, but I'll keep on "keeping on" with the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.  Today's "Joy" is a dancing pig.  lol.  What's not to love about a dancing pig?

Happy New Year and Welcome Back to 30 Paintings in 30 Days!

As promised, I decided to bring some joy into my studio for the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge.  My theme, centered around my whimsical critters is "joy".  To start things off, I kept seeing in my mind the joy expressed when we dance.  Visions of "jump for joy" and "dance like no one is watching" come to mind. Smile and be carefree, even for a few moments of your day.  Let's start out the "30 Paintings in 30 Days" challenge with "Barnyard Bump".  I hope this brings a smile.  Happy 2017!
